If you don’t have vision insurance, we can usually bill your health insurance for the greater portion of the examination (less $35.00 for the refraction). Sonoran Desert Eye Center is currently credentialed with the following health and vision insurances:

Health Insurance

  • BlueCross/Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • Medicare
  • AARP
  • Tricare
  • Aetna
  • Healthnet
  • United Healthcare
  • Ameriben

Vision Insurance (associated with many health insurances not listed above)

  • Vision Care Direct
  • VSP (Vision Service Provider)
  • VBA (Vision Benefits of America)
  • Eyemed
  • Spectera (Optum Health)
  • Davis Vision
  • Superior Vision
  • Avesis
  • United Vision Plan
  • Humana Vision Care Plan (VCP)

We are not contracted with Humana Health, Pacificare, ACCHS, or Cigna to provide medical eye care. However, many times these plans will pay out of network and they may have vision plans associated with them that we do take. Contact our office at 480-812-2211 for more information.

Payment is required, whether it comes from you or your insurance company. Your insurance company or vision plan is an agent of you. We are happy to assist you in filing your insurance claim as a courtesy to you. However, please note that knowledge of your insurance contract and its limitations are your responsibility.

If you are a small business owner, trying to decide on the best vision plan for your employees, please consider Vision Care Direct. It is simple and provides immediate benefits.

Call 480-812-2211 to see if we accept your insurance. A phone call or letter to you insurance company requesting they add Dr. Quaranta at Sonoran Desert Eye Center to their panel will improve our chances of getting credentialed.

If your insurance is not on this list, please be aware that many insurance companies contract with the above list of companies to provide specific vision care services. For example, Eyemed has contracts with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and others. You may call the Customer Service number on the back of your insurance card and ask if Dr. Quaranta or Sonoran Desert Eye Center is on their provider list. Efforts can be made to place Dr. Quaranta on your insurance company’s provider list. Please call if you have any questions.
